For more than 40 years\, he has wri tten about and been active in national and international human rights\, an ti-racism politics\, Diaspora engagements\, U.S. foreign policy\, democrac y building\, and social justice issues such as education\, criminal justic e\, and drug policy.  \;He earned his B.A. in Communications from Wayn e State University and both his Masters and Ph.D. from Howard University i n Political Science.
