X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Stories and storytelling are a form of cul
tural expression in Black and Afro-Caribbean communities. Tales by Moonlig
ht is a celebration and recognition of oral storytelling and sharing. Atte
ndees will share stories in relation to the themes of Black History\, Blac
k experience\, Blackness\, and Black identity. Although not under the ligh
 t of the moon\, we are building a space of trust\, release\, validation\,
and joy. In order to achieve this\, we would like to centre the voices and
experiences of members of the Black community and we request that all per
formers should self-identify as Black or Afro-Caribbean. All are welcome t
o attend and share in space with the Black community.</p>\n<p>Dr. Kristin
Moriah (English Language and Literature\, Queen&rsquo\;s University) will
open the event\, followed by an open mic for anyone interested in sharing
stories. Spots for performers will be filled according to the order in whi
ch applications are received and the suitability of the applications given
the proposed themes.</p>\n<p>Accepted mediums of storytelling include: fi
ctional and non-fictional first person stories\; excerpts from books\, art
icles\, and other forms of media\; spoken word and poetry\; and songs. Per
