X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>After serving as Ohio&rsquo\;s Attorney Ge
neral and Ohio Treasurer\,&nbsp\;Richard Cordray&nbsp\;served for six year
s as the first Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau\, crea
ted by Congress in the aftermath of epic economic crash of 2008.&nbsp\;<br
  /><br />Sharing the stories of individual consumers\,&nbsp\;WATCHDOG&nbsp
\;shows how the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau quickly became a powe
rful force for good\, suing big banks for cheating or deceiving consumers\
, putting limits on predatory lenders\, simplifying mortgage paperwork\, a
nd stepping in to help solve problems raised by individual consumers. It t
ells a hopeful story of how our system can be reformed by putting governme
nt back on the side of the people\, to strengthen our families\, safeguard
the marketplace\, and establish a new baseline of fairness in our democra
tic society.</p>\n<p>Along with his aforementioned roles in state and fede
ral government\, Cordray taught at Ohio State University&rsquo\;s law scho
ol and served as a state legislator and as Ohio&rsquo\;s first Solicitor G
eneral. He has argued seven cases before the U.S. Supreme Court\, includin
g by special appointment of both the Clinton and Bush Justice Departments.
