 r social connection for kids through fun learning activities.&nbsp\; Using
  virtual video chat\, kids are introduced to new concepts and ideas in fun
  and engaging ways.&nbsp\; Topics range from a variety of educational disc
 iplines such as science and technology\, arts\, social studies and more.</
 p>\n<p><strong>This week we will be exploring the topic of coding from the
  Ontario curriculum by developing\, creating\, and discussing activities f
 rom the Hour of Code.</strong> The Hour of code is a worldwide effort to e
 ncourage participation in computer science by showing that anyone can lear
 ning the basics of coding. For this activity\, the following supplies are 
 required: access to the Hour of Code website.</p>\n<p>This program is gear
 ed towards children aged 8-12.</p>\n<p><strong>The program will be conduct
 ed over the Zoom video platform.&nbsp\;For saftey and attendance purposes\
 , please register for the programing using your childs first name.</strong

 rong>Library staff will email the Zoom link to all participants an hour be
 fore the program begins.</strong>&nbsp\;You do not have to have a Zoom acc
 ount to attend this program. However\, if you do not have the software you
  will be prompted to download it when you click on the link provided. Ther
 e is no charge for the download but it does take a few minutes to complete
  so please allow time before the start of the program to do so.</p>\n<p><s
 trong>During the program please make sure there is an adult nearby to supe
 rvise your child and to ensure the best possible use of internet resources
 \, provide technical assistance and to maintain behaviour.&nbsp\;</strong>
