 e Progress Paradox. He has been a staff writer\, national correspondent or
  contributing editor of The Atlantic for nearly 40 years. Easterbrook has 
 written for the New Yorker\, Science\, Wired\, Harvard Business Review\, t
 he Washington Monthly\, the New York Times\, the Wall Street Journal and t
 he Los Angeles Times. He was a fellow in economics\, then in government st
 udies\, at the Brookings Institution\, and a fellow in international affai
 rs at the Fulbright Foundation. In 2017 he was elected to the American Aca
 demy of Arts and Sciences. After moving all over the world following his w
 ife&rsquo\;s career in the Foreign Service\, he and his wife moved to Mont
