From 10am to Noon\, published author\, Kar la Clark\, and artist\, Lisa Greco will lead a group of young writers in a workshop to write and illustrate their own personal short stories. In lig ht of our current circumstances\, the workshop will focus on stories that depict the unique way each of us has been getting though this unprecedente d time here in our community. The young writers will be given new composit ion notebooks and spread out on the lawn of the library. All safety precau tions\, including masks and social distancing\, will be strictly adhered t o. The instructors will move through out\, helping each writer develop a s tory and illustrate a picture to go with it. Each notebook and personal st ory will be a keepsake that participants can share on social media as well as take with them to share with friends and family giving them an authent ic arts experience which they may not have had before.

\nAt Noon\, we would like to invite families to bring a small lunch and a blanket\, to sit and enjoy some Live Outdoor Storytelling on the lawn o f the library. Karla Clark will read her clever\, rhyming picture book\, Y ou Be Mommy and members of the [usual] Suspects Theater Company will perfo rm short humorous skits about the importance of reading and writing. There will also be an opportunity for any of our young writers to share their n ew short stories with the crowd and we will finish the event with a raffle for a signed copy of Karla&rsquo\;s wonder book. We expect the activities to wrap up by 1pm.
