These photographs are part of a current project to raise awareness about the importance of nature conservation efforts\, and in particular\, protecting the night sky from light pollution.
\nPreserving the nig ht environment helps support human health and heritage\, and preserve wild life habitats. Night photography offers a chance to capture and document s cenes that few people ever see nowadays due to artificial light\, and air glow pollution.
\nPresented by Imma \;Barrera
\nBorn in Ba rcelona\, \;Imma \;Barrera is a landscape and nature photographer based in Metuchen NJ. She is a biologist\, but also a graduate of NY Insti tute of Photography\, and has exhibited her photography in a number of gal leries worldwide\, and won several awards. Her favorite subject to photogr aph include landscapes from dusk to dawn\, including astrophotography\, an d she was selected as the 2019 Capitol Reef National Park's Artist-in-Resi dence for her night sky photography. In addition\, she was shortlisted in the Landscape category of the 2019 Sony World Photography Awards - Profess ional competition with her series &ldquo\;Under the Night Sky.&rdquo\;&nbs p\; \;Imma is the author of \;&ldquo\;The \;Stars\, The Moon and The Sun (in the NJ/NY area)." \;She is involved in educational pr ograms about photography and seminars to raise awareness about the need to protect our natural treasures.
