To complement this year's One Read program\, Ragtag hosts a free screening of "Russian Ark" by Alexander Sokurov. This experimental feature-length film was the first of its kind to be shot in a single take. You'll follow an u nnamed narrator as he travels through the Winter Palace in Saint Petersbur g and explores three centuries of Russian history. The entire film was sho t in one day on a single camera\, and displays 33 rooms of the museum with a cast of over 2\,000 actors and three orchestras. "If cinema is sometime s dreamlike\, then every edit is an awakening. 'Russian Ark' spins a daydr eam made of centuries\," said Roger Ebert. (2002\, unrated\, 95 minutes)\n

T he doors to the cinema will open at 6:30 p.m. and a limited number of seat s will be available\, due to social-distancing requirements. Free tickets can be picked up at the Ragtag box office (or reserved online) starting at noon the day of the show. Limit of four free tickets per person.
