\nLouisa's father was a pioneer in education and whose friends in cluded Ralph Waldo Emerson\, Henry David Thoreau\, Nathaniel Hawthorne and Margaret Fuller. After living in an ideal utopian community\, moving nume rous times\, and struggling to make a career for herself\, Louisa\, the to mboy of the Alcott household\, went off to become a nurse in the Civil War \, profoundly changing her life. Deciding never to marry\, the Alcott&rsqu o\;s &ldquo\;Merry Spinster&rdquo\; continued to write and work tirelessly for social reform. Later\, she single-handedly supported her family.
\ nLearn of her struggles and successes\, her eccentric father and hard-w orking mother\, and about the sisters who inspired Louisa&rsquo\;s most fa mous work "Little Women."
\nLouisa May Alcott is portrayed by Pat Jo rdan.
\n\; Performed by Pat Jordan\, whose passion for history has led her to bring the stories of famous American women to audiences thr oughout the country with American Historical Theatre. \; Her entertain ing and highly-researched historical interpretations have been seen at The Smithsonian Institution\, National Portrait Gallery\, Mount Vernon\, Dela ware Chautauqua\, U.S. Armed Forces\, Truman Library\, and many other orga nizations\, including sponsored sites of the New Jersey Council for the Hu manities. \; \; \;
\n\;She has been the lead in man y dramatic and musical-theatre productions at venues including NY&rsquo\;s 42nd Street and Clurman theatres\, Philadelphia&rsquo\;s Academy of Music and Walnut Street Studio Stages\, as well as in historical presentations at Trenton&rsquo\;s Patriot Theatre\, Maryland&rsquo\;s Public Theatre\, a nd the Arkansas Arts Center\, among others.
\nHistorical film roles include Sarah Gibbons in Eyewitness to History for KYW-TV and the lead in a film for the American Flag Association. In feature films\, she appears a s Larry&rsquo\;s Mom in Lucky Numbers and Molly in Cash Crop (Harvest).
\n\;Pat is a graduate of Villanova University and studied at the H-B Studio in NY as well as accredited venues such as Juilliard&rsquo\;s O pera Workshop with Vincent LaSelva\, and Rutgers-Camden Summer Theatre Pro duction Program. In addition to the eight famous women she presents\, Pat is an accomplished singer and a published playwright.
