 the United States\, Black children like Till became important actors in th
 e Black freedom struggle. Using the Brown v. Board decision (1954) and the
  death of Emmett Till\, this talk will examine the contributions of Black 
 children to the early years of the civil rights movement.</p>\n<p>Presente
 d by Pr. Mekala Audain\, an Associate Professor in the history department 
 at The College of New Jersey\, where she teaches African American history 
 courses. She earned her PhD in history from Rutgers University. She is cur
 rently finishing a book about fugitive slaves from Louisiana and Texas who
  escaped to Mexico between 1804 and 1865.</p>\n<p>At the conclusion of the
