DESCRIPTION:This presentation will help you understand how COVID-19 is cha
nging the college admissions landscape and how it will affect Freshmen\, S
 ophomores\, and Juniors..\nhttps://alexandria.libnet.info/event/4731720
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>The college admissions process is undergoi
ng significant and lasting changes as many colleges and universities have
gone test optional for this current admissions cycle and will evaluate the
ir standardized testing policies going forward. With the opportunity for v
isiting colleges curtailed\, we&rsquo\;ll discuss how students can engage
with colleges virtually to help them develop a preliminary list of college
s to consider visiting when campuses are fully open.</p>\n<p>We will discu
ss the holistic review process and focus on the greater consideration admi
ssions officers will give to extracurricular activities as they will have
fewer data points to rely on due to the disruptions from COVID-19.</p>\n<p
 >This program covers how admissions officers are handling the current situ
ation and how students can position themselves to develop a compelling nar
rative to increase their chances for admission.</p>\n<p>We will also discu
ss the importance of community service\, how it can provide an opportunity
for personal growth and an opportunity to showcase a student&rsquo\;s cha
racter. Admissions officers\, especially due to the effects from the pande
mic\, are placing a great emphasis on a student&rsquo\;s character and how
the student has been able to give back and help others during these chall
enging times.</p>\n<p>The presentation will be led by Ron Feuchs and Jacki
 e Tepper\, partners at <a href="https://standoutforcollege.com/" target="_
 blank" rel="noopener">Stand Out For College\, LLC</a>.</p>\nhttps://alexan
