The public is invited to the monthly meeti ngs of the Lake-to-Prairie chapter of the Wild Ones\, a national not-for-p rofit organization that promotes the use of native plants in landscapes.\n
Landscaping with Natives
\nThis one hour pre sentation introduces and explains the many benefits of landscaping using n ative plants. Not only are native plants beautiful and versatile\, they ar e great for our environment because they support pollinators\, native bird s\, butterflies and other wildlife\, reduce erosion and much more. \;< /p>\n

Prairie \;Wild Ones \;board member and passionate native gardener\
, Sandy Washburn. Sandy earned her Master Gardener certificate at the Chic
ago Botanic Garden and is active in local efforts to remove invasive speci
es and restore appropriate natives to these areas. She also helps coordina
te a garden project in Highland Park that provides fresh produce to a loca
l food pantry. \;
