\nChandra Melting Tallow's Instag ram Takeover runs from Thursday February 25th to Sunday February 28th.
\nChandra Melting Tallow is an interdisciplinary artist\, filmmaker\, w riter and music producer of mixed ancestry from the Siksika Nation. Their practice confronts the ghosts of intergenerational trauma and their relati onship to the body through the lens of physical disability\, utilizing hum our and surrealism to subvert oppressive structures of power. They spearhe ad the solo music project Mourning Coup\, in 2015 they released their debu t LP Baby Blue under No Sun Recordings\, a cult classic in the Indigenous lexicon of underground music. Their practice encompasses experimental film \, textile based installation\, and performance\, and has been exhibited a cross North America. \;
\nCheyenne Rain LeGrande á‘á’¥ áŠá§á£ is a Nehiyaw Isko artist and curator\, from Bigstone Cr ee Nation. She currently resides in Amiskwaciy Waskahikan also known as Ed monton\, Alberta. \; Cheyenne graduated from Emily Carr University wit h her BFA in Visual Arts in 2019. Her work often explores history\, knowle dge and traditional practices. Through the use of her body and language\, she speaks to the past\, present and future. Cheyenne&rsquo\;s work is roo ted in the strength to feel\, express and heal. Bringing her ancestors wit h her\, she moves through installation\, photography\, video\, sound\, and performance art.
