 ular relevance at a moment in history.&nbsp\;King Lear&nbsp\;in the twenti
 eth century suddenly resonated with end of the world scenarios and existen
 tial emptiness. What about now\, with its focus on the elderly and origina
 lly written and performed in a time of plague? Is&nbsp\;King Lear&nbsp\;un
 iquely relevant for our moment in history? &nbsp\;</p>\n<p>This online lec
 ture is presented in partnership with the <a href="https://www.stratfordfe
 stival.ca/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Stratford Festival">Stra
 tford Festival</a>.</p>\n<p><strong>Presenter Bio:</strong> <br />Dr. Mark
  Fortier is a Professor of English and Theatre Studies at the University o
 f Guelph. Among his publications are&nbsp\;Theory/Theatre: an Introduction
 \,&nbsp\;Adaptations of Shakespeare\, and&nbsp\;Literature and Law. He is 
 currently working on a book called&nbsp\;Shakespeare&rsquo\;s Law\, to be 
 published by Routledge.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>Meeting Details</strong>:<b
