\nJ ames Skidmore \;is a faculty member at the University of Wate rloo and Director of the Waterloo Centre for German Studies\, one of the u niversity&rsquo\;s research institutes. His work in German studies focuses on the representation of political and social issues in literature and fi lm. He is also active in online course design and teaching\, and has serve d as a Teaching Fellow at the university as well as an Open Education Fell ow at eCampusOntario.
