 >\n<p>Gena Schantz is a local historian. She has presented many programs o
 n the Davenport House\, the Davenport Family\, Fort Armstrong\, and the ea
 rliest town foundings surrounding Rock Island.&nbsp\; She has been involve
 d with several organizations including the Davenport House\, Heritage Docu
 mentaries\, River Action&rsquo\;s Channel Cat Tours\, and CommUniversity.&
 nbsp\; Gena's book\, <em>The Trader at Rock Island: George Davenport and t
 he Founding of the Quad Cities</em>\, was recently published.&nbsp\; &nbsp
 \;</p>\n<p>Community Connections is sponsored by the Friends of the Betten
 dorf Public Library.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>This program will take place virtually
  via GoToMeeting. Admission is free\, however\, advance registration is re
