 f stereotypes and racism\, including the Asian American images in popular 
 culture and the model minority stereotype. Finally\, the presentation will
  include the importance of ally-ship in addressing injustice. Presented by
  Dr. Teresa Mok\, a licensed clinical psychologist\, and Dr. David Chih\, 
 director of the UIUC Asian American Cultural Center.<br /><br />&nbsp\;Dr.
  Teresa Mok is a licensed clinical psychologist in Urbana\, Illinois\, whe
 re she maintains an adult-focused private practice. While trained as a gen
 eralist\, her areas of research interest center around Asian American ment
 al health issues\, including identity\, gender roles\, and stereotypes. Sh
 e has also explored how Asian Americans are affected by the &ldquo\;model 
 minority&rdquo\; stereotype in a number of realms\, including academic set
 tings\, sports\, and within the media. She received both a Ph.D. and M.S. 
 in clinical psychology from Purdue University and a B.A. in psychology and
  Chinese culture from the University of Maryland. Dr. Mok is a second gene
 ration Chinese American\, born and raised on the east coast. Champaign-Urb
 ana has been her home for the past 23 years\, where she lives with her par
 tner and their two teenage sons.<br />&nbsp\;<br />Dr. David Chih is the f
 ounding director of the Asian American Cultural Center at the University o
 f Illinois at Urbana-Champaign which opened in 2005. For over 30 years\, D
 avid has focused on issues of diversity and inclusion with particular emph
 asis on Asian American and international student communities. Since coming
  to UIUC in 1998\, he has served as assistant dean of students for Asian P
 acific American Affairs\, clinical counselor in the Counseling Center\, an
 d interim associate vice chancellor of student affairs for the Office of I
 nclusion and Intercultural Relations comprised of UIUC&rsquo\;s eight cult
 ural/resource centers. He received a PhD in counseling psychology and a BA
  in East Asian studies and psychology from Indiana University\, an MS in p
 sychology from Purdue University\, and completed a doctoral internship in 
 psychology at Michigan State University Counseling Center. David is a seco
 nd generation Chinese American.</p>\n<p>Registration will close two hours
