The Resistance Network is the his tory of an underground network of humanitarians\, missionaries\, and diplo mats in Ottoman Syria who helped save the lives of thousands during the Ar menian Genocide. Khatchig Mouradian challenges depictions of Armenians as passive victims of violence and subjects of humanitariani sm\, demonstrating the key role they played in organizing a humanitarian r esistance against the destruction of their people.

\nBe the Change series takes place in conjunction with such commemorations as Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month\ , Native American Heritage Month\, Black History Month\, Armenian Genocide Remembrance\, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month\, and LG BTQ+ Pride. The series will also examine the one-year anniversary of the 2 020 racial justice protests and 100-year anniversary of the Tulsa Race Mas sacre. The series will include virtual lectures\, exhibits\, and online pr ogramming from authors\, curators\, and historians.
\nThe series is led by Glendale Library\, Arts &\; Culture in partnership with the Sout hern California Library Cooperative and Outlook Newspapers. The series is sponsored by the City of Glendale Arts and Culture Commission\, with funding from the City of Glendale Urban Art Fund.
