 e="color: #000000\;"><strong>Pamela Nadell</strong> is the author of <em>A
 merica&rsquo\;s Jewish Women: A History from Colonial Times to Today</em>\
 , published in 2019 by W.W. Norton and winner of the National Jewish Book 
 Award&ndash\;Jewish Book of the Year. A professor and Patrick Clendenen Ch
 air in Women&rsquo\;s and Gender History at American University in Washing
 ton\, DC\, she is a recipient of the university&rsquo\;s highest faculty a
 ward\, Scholar/Teacher of the Year. Her other books include <em>Women Who 
 Would be Rabbis: A History of Women&rsquo\;s Ordination\, 1889-1985</em>. 
 Past president of the Association for Jewish Studies\, she has also receiv
 ed the American Jewish Historical Society&rsquo\;s Lee Max Friedman Award 
 for distinguished service to the profession.</span><br /><br /></p>\n<p st
