S he's been a finalist for national crime-writing awards thirty-one times: f ourteen times for the Agatha\, seven times for the Macavity Award\, six ti mes for the Anthony Award\, three times for the Derringer\, and once for t he Silver Falchion. (The Silver Falchion was for her book "Don't Get Mad\, Get Even\," which won best single-author mystery-short-story collection p ublished in 2013.)
\nArt Taylor is the author of th e story collection \;The Boy Detective &\; The Summer of &rsquo\;74 and Other Tales of Suspense \;and of the novel in stories \;On th e Road with Del &\; Louise\, \;winner of the Agatha Award for Best First Novel. \;He won the 2019 Edgar Award for Best Short Story for &l dquo\;English 398: Fiction Workshop\,&rdquo\; originally published in \;Ellery Queen&rsquo\;s Mystery Magazine\, and he has won three additional Agatha Awards\, an Anthony Award\, three Macavity Awards\, and three cons ecutive Derringer Awards for his short fiction. His work has also appeared in \;Best American Mystery Stories\, and he edited \;Murder Under the Oaks: Bouchercon Anthology 2015\, winner of the Anthony Award for Bes t Anthology or Collection. He is an associate professor of English at Geor ge Mason University\, and he has contributed frequently to the \;Washi ngton Post\, the \;Washington Independent Review of Books\, and \; Mystery Scene Magazine.
\nStacy Woodson writes roma ntic suspense and crime fiction. She is a U.S. Army veteran and memories o f her time in the military are often a source of inspiration for her stori es. A California native\, who now lives in the DC area\, she misses good M exican food. Stacy made her crime fiction debut with &ldquo\;Duty\, Honor\ , Hammett&rdquo\; in \;Ellery Queen \;Mystery Magazine&rsquo\;s&nb sp\;Department of First Stories and won the 2018 Readers Award. Her story\ , &ldquo\;Armadillo by Morning\,&rdquo\; was a shortlisted finalist for th e Bill Crider Prize for Short Fiction in 2019\, and &ldquo\;The Hail Mary Play&rdquo\; was featured on the cover of \;Mystery Weekly Magazine&rs quo\;s \;July 2019 issue. She is a Daphne du Maurier award winner and a Killer Nashville Claymore finalist. Currently\, she is a \;Publisher s Weekly \;contributor and a member of The Authors Guild of America\, Mystery Writers of America\, International Thriller Writers\, Sisters in C rime\, and the Short Mystery Fiction Society. When she&rsquo\;s not writin g\, she works as background talent for movies and television. Past project s include Showtime&rsquo\;s \;Homeland\, Amazon&rsquo\;s \;Jack Ry an\, AMC&rsquo\;s \;The Walking Dead: World Beyond\, and \;Wonder Woman 1984. She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. A former psycholog ical operations officer\, Stacy supported the special operations community during her ten years in the military deploying to Iraq and other location s in the Middle East\, Latin America\, and Asia. She is both Jumpmaster an d Pathfinder qualified. After the Army\, she worked as a government contra ctor and rose to the rank of Executive Vice President before returning to government service supporting the Joint Staff\, J3 in the Pentagon.
\n< p>Cathy Wiley is happiest when plotting stories in her he ad or on the computer\, or when she&rsquo\;s delving into research. \ ;She holds a BA in Journalism\, with a minor in English\, from the Univers ity of Maryland. She published two mystery novels\, \;Dead to Writes&n bsp\;and Two Wrongs Don't Make a Write\, in the Cassie Ellis mystery serie s set in Baltimore\, Maryland. She&rsquo\;s also had several stories accep ted for publication in anthologies published by the Chesapeake Chapter of Sisters in Crime: \;including &ldquo\;Dead Men Tell No Tales&rdquo\;\ , published in \;Chesapeake Crimes: Homicidal Holidays\, which was a 2 015 Derringer finalist. \; She is a member of Sisters in Crime\, a for mer president of the SinC Chesapeake Chapter\, a member of Mystery Writers of America\, and a member of Short Mystery Fiction Society. She lives out side of Baltimore\, Maryland\, with one spoiled cat and an equally spoiled husband. \;She and her husband greatly enjoy traveling\, although CO VID-19 has temporarily halted that.\nA zoom account is not required to join\, but a microphone is.
