 nnial. What is a trailblazer\, you might ask? A trailblazer is someone who
  has impacted our culture through major events\, leadership\, innovation a
 nd more! In July\, we'll highlight Dr. Suzanne Saueressig\, the state's fi
 rst female veterinarian.</p>\n<p>Honored as Woman Veterinarian of the Year
  in 1972\, German-born Dr. Suzanne Saueressig is credited with the progres
 sion of Missouri&rsquo\;s Humane Society headquarters clinic\, which is on
 e of the Midwest&rsquo\;s largest veterinary practices. A lifelong advocat
 e for ending animal suffering and pet overpopulation\, Dr. Saueressig was 
 a pioneer in bringing awareness to these problems and improving surgical m
 ethods. Additionally\, she has been an inspiration for both young women an
 d immigrants in Missouri\, showing them that anything is possible. Present
 ed by the Missouri State Museum's education specialist\, Carrie Hammond.</
