\nThe Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs\, Arkansas\, is considere d one of the most haunted hotels in the U.S. The bizarre and tragic story of the years when it operated as a cancer hospital haunts the hotel far mo re than tales of specters. In "What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel"\, Sea n tells the story of the hotel\, starting with the first visit of his fami ly to the hotel when he was a child. The graphic nonfiction \;blends o ral histories\, newspaper articles and Norman Baker&rsquo\;s vanity biogra phy to examine this historical happening and yesteryear&rsquo\;s monsters. Drawing from Sean's educational background at the Joe Kubert School of Ca rtooning and Design and the University of Arkansas&rsquo\; School of Art M FA program\, this story is told using classic illustration skills blended with fine art compositions that produce atmospheric imagery\, transporting readers into the hotel&rsquo\;s dark\, bizarre and varied past.
