 present "Queer Witches and Magical Enbies"\, a conversation between Kingst
 on-based YA fantasy author and academic\, Adan Jerreat-Poole\, and The Wit
 ch Institute's Tamara de Szegheo Lang. Jerreat-Poole will read from their 
 recently published novel\,&nbsp\;<em>The Boi of Feather and Steel</em>\, a
 nd then join de Szegheo Lang for a conversation about the witch's role as 
 a queer\, feminist\, and activist icon\, bodily transformation\, disabilit
 y\, the environment\, and other topics.</p>\n<p>Adan Jerreat-Poole lives w
 ith chronic pain\, depression\, anxiety\, and feminism. When they aren't r
 eading or writing\, Adan likes to crochet\, play video games\, and do jigs
 aw puzzles. They have a PhD in cultural studies and work at the intersecti
 on of disability and digital media. Adan lives in Kingston\, ON\, with the
 ir forever partner\, Rida.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Tamara de Szegheo Lang (she/her)
  is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Film and Media at 
 Queen&rsquo\;s University. She is also the project manager of the Vulnerab
 le Media Lab at Queen&rsquo\;s\, which works toward the preservation\, mig
 ration and remediation of audio-visual production in Canada\, especially b
 y marginalized communities including Indigenous peoples\, women\, and LGBT
 Q2 people. Her research takes up queer history\, community-based archives\
 , visual culture\, and the affective relationships between queer people an
 d the past in curatorial and media spaces. She is a co-organizer of The Wi
 tch Institute\, an online symposium\, taking place in August 2021.</p>\n<p
 ><a href="https://witchinstitute.com/">The Witch Institute</a> is a one-ti
 me symposium hosted by the Department of Film and Media at Queen&rsquo\;s 
 University in Katarokwi/Kingston\, Ontario\, Canada\, as the 2021 summer i
 nstitute of the new&nbsp\;Screen Cultures and Curatorial Studies&nbsp\;gra
 duate program. The Witch Institute will take place August 16-22\, 2021. Cl
