Local author Emily Brewes' The Doomsday Book of Fairy Tales is an astounding book about a dangerous quest in an eerie p ost-climate collapse world.

\nE mily Brewes \;grew up in the wilds of North Bay\, Ontario\, where she learned to be afraid of nature\, especially bugs. Her writing career exist s to spite a 2nd grade teacher who accused her of &ldquo\;getting help&rdq uo\; on a creative composition that was perceived as being &ldquo\;too goo d&rdquo\;. Many years on\, Emily attempted National Novel Writing Month se veral times\, one of which produced The \;Doomsday \;Book of F airy Tales. She lived for some time in Toronto\, where she learned to write wistfully of Northern Ontario&rsquo\;s rugged beauty and haunting l andscapes\, but has since moved to Kingston.
