 ptation and survival and consider the role society plays in conservation e
 fforts. The&nbsp\;California condor&nbsp\;(<em>Gymnogyps californianus</em
 >) is a federally endangered bird that was rescued from extinction by inte
 nsive human efforts. It now breeds in the southwest states such as Arizona
 \, Utah\, and California. Considered one of the rarest birds in the world\
 , it is the largest land bird in North America with a wingspan up to 9 1/2

 >\n<p>Located in Arizona\, <a href="https://www.nps.gov/grca/learn/managem

 ark is home to much of the immense Grand Canyon\; a mile (1.6 km) deep\, a
 nd up to 18 miles (29 km) wide. Layered bands of colorful rock reveal mill
 ions of years of geologic history. Grand Canyon is unmatched in the vistas
