tarist/multi-instrumentalist Marc Lee Shannon left Akron\, Ohio at age 19
to attend the legendary Guitar Institute in Hollywood\, California. After
11 years of road trips and rest stops\, sessions\, and performances with m
any top country\, rock\, and soul artists\, he headed back home to turn th
 e page and start a new chapter.</p>\n<p>Through a friend\, Shannon got a c
all from Northeast Ohio's favorite son\, Michael Stanley. Following that f
ateful conversation\, and after playing on "Coming Up for Air\," Shannon b
 ecame a member of Stanley's band\, The Resonators\, for over 25 years\, pr
 oviding electric\, acoustic\, baritone\, and 12-string guitars\, as well a
 s mandolin for one of Ohio's top-drawing acts.&nbsp\;In 2007 he released h
is first solo record\, and then in 2018\, Shannon stepped back into the li
melight to release "Walk This Road\," musically directed by Ryan Humbert.<
/p>\n<p>Sober since November of 2014\, Marc has been active in the addicti
on and recovery community as a volunteer at the St. Thomas Hospital detox
ward and in the Turning Point program for the Summit County drug courts. H
 e writes a monthly column\, Sober Chronicles\, for the Akron<em> Devil Str
ip\,</em> and has a podcast for 91.3 the Summit: Recovery Talks: The Podca
 st (<a href="http://www.recoverytalks.org">www.recoverytalks.org</a>). He
is the first to admit that helping others is the key to his journey in lon
 g-term recovery.</p>\n<p>In 2021\, Marc has released a new single\, "Stead
y On\," a tribute to his friend Michael Stanley and which chronicles the j
ourney to overcoming grief. A new album release titled "Lucky Seven" is du
 e in November.</p>\n<p>Marc plays solo\, with a trio\, or a full rocking b
and\, featuring songs from his catalog\, along with an occasional smart an
d stylish cover of a song that &ndash\; in his own words &ndash\; are "pul
l over to the side of the road" favorites. Sit back and enjoy! His soulful
and melodic Rust Belt-hewn voice and persona fit everywhere from a quiet
 concert venue to a concert hall.</p>\n<p><a href="http://www.marcleeshanno
