 " height="454" /><strong>Bruce Meyer</strong> is author of 67 books (with 
 nine more forthcoming by the end of 2022) of poetry\, short stories\, flas
 h fiction\, and non-fiction. He has had three national bestsellers (The Go
 lden Thread\, We Wasn't Pals\, and Portraits of Canadian Writers). His sho
 rt stories have won or been shortlisted for numerous international prizes 
 including the Fish Fiction Prize (IRE)\, the Retreat West Fiction Prize (U
 K)\, the Anton Chekhov Prize (UK)\, the Tom Gallon Trust Fiction Prize (UK
 )\, the Bath Short Story Prize (UK)\, the Thomas Morton Prize (CAN)\, the 
 Freefall Fiction Prize (CAN)\, the Carter V. Cooper Prize (CAN)\, the Stra
 nd International Short Fiction Prize (IND)\, and the London Independent Sh
 ort Story Prize (UK).</p>\n<p>He was the inaugural Poet Laureate of the Ci
 ty of Barrie (2010 to 2014)\, Artistic Director of the Leacock Summer Fest
 ival of Canadian Literature (1999 to 2008) in Orillia\, and is currently a
  mentor in the BMO Mentorship Program with Exile Editions. His work was th
 e subject of a course last year in the Publishing Practicum Program at the
  University of Windsor. He lives in Barrie and teaches at Georgian College
