  Hammack met TSR founder Gary Gygax\, who later hired him as a games edito
 r in 1978. Hammack went on to develop and edit multiple TSR role-playing p
 roducts\, including many books\, guides\, and peripherals. Best known for 
 <strong>C2: Ghost Tower of Inverness\,</strong> Hammack has contributed to
  over 100 products as author\, designer\, editor\, or developer. He writes
  often on using myths and legends of the world in gaming: three books on t
 he subject\, the Viking Gods board game\, and was a chief editor of <stron
 g>Dungeon Masters Guide</strong> and <strong>Deities &amp\; Demigods</stro
 ng> during the five years he served at TSR. Allen was Manager of Designers
  during the "Golden Era" of TSR. Tracy Hickman called Allen "the man who t
