  Journalist Ethan Lou to talk about his latest work\, <em><strong>Once a B
 itcoin Miner: Scandal and Turmoil in the Cryptocurrency Wild West</strong>
 . </em>Ethan will share his first-hand narratives and adventures with the 
 Cryptocurrency world and also his encounters with some of the renowned fig
 ures of the field<em>.</em></p>\n<p>Ethan Lou writes widely\, including a 
 cryptocurrency column for the Financial Post.</p>\n<p>From investing in Bi
 tcoin in university to his time writing for Reuters\, and then mining the 
 digital asset ― Lou meets a co-founder of Ethereum and Gerald Cotte
 n of QuadrigaCX (before he was reported dead) and hangs out in North Korea
  with Virgil Griffith\, the man later arrested for allegedly teaching bloc
 kchain to the totalitarian state.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Lou examines this domain 
 through the lens of the human condition\, delving deep into the lives of t
 he fast-talkers\, the exiles\, the ambitious\, and the daring\, forging th
 eir paths in a new world harsh and unpredictable.</p>\n<p>His previous boo
 k\, <strong><em>Field notes from a Pandemic</em></strong>\, was named amon
 g the CBC&rsquo\;s best Canadian nonfiction of 2020 and shortlisted for Ko
 bo&rsquo\;s emerging writer prize.</p>\n<p>Lou is a former Reuters reporte
 r and has served as a visiting journalist at the University of British Col
 umbia and he is in Toronto now.</p>\n<p>Registration required. The Library
