 ><em>Ulysses</em></a> by James Joyce\, "Ulysses: A Reader's Odyssey" explo
 res one of the twentieth century's most significant works of fiction. In t
 his book\, Ambassador Daniel Mulhall leads the reader through the eighteen
  chapters of Joyce's novel using the famous structuring principle of Homer
 's Odyssey. Mulhall aims to release "Ulysses" from its reputation of impen
 etrability and show the reader the pleasure it offers.</p>\n<p>Ambassador 
 Mulhall will join DC Public Library Executive Director Richard Reyes-Gavil
 an on February 2 to discuss "Ulysses: A Reader's Odyssey." Joyce's "Ulysse
 s" has been a personal favorite of Reyes-Gavilan for three decades. The co
 nversation will focus on how Ambassador Mulhall's book offers people a gui
 de to make "Ulysses" less intimidating.</p>\n<p>Daniel Mulhall is Ireland'
 s 18th Ambassador to the United States. He maintains a keen interest in Ir
 ish history and literature. He is the author of "A New Day Dawning: A Port
 rait of Ireland in 1900" and co-editor of "The Shaping of Modern Ireland: 
 A Centenary Assessment" and has made numerous contributions to books\, new
 spapers and journals published in Ireland\, Australia\, New Zealand\, Germ
 any and Britain.</p>\n<p>The discussion will stream live on the Library's&
 nbsp\;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2eet0BLkzY">Youtube page</
 a>. Following the stream\, the program will be available on demand.</p>\n<
