\nJudy Garland was born on June 10\, 1922.
\nHer career began as a child performer in vaudeville\, leading to becoming one of the most highly regarded perfor mers in film musicals. Her later triumphs included now legendary concerts and television. Her problems and untimely death cannot diminish the memory of her talent and the joy she still brings to millions. There is Garland and there is everybody else.
\nMarc Courtade is an an arts administr ator with over 30 years experience in leadership roles. He is a frequent s peaker all over Long Island and the New York area on Broadway Musicals\, O pera and Great Performers. Marc currently teaches courses on Opera and Bro adway Musicals for the Frick Estate Lectures at Nassau County Museum of Ar t\, specializing in Musicals and Opera. \; \;
\nHe has recen tly retired as Executive Director of the Huntington Arts Council. He was B usiness Manger at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts\, and the Producer and Artistic Director for Performance PLUS!\, a pre-performance enrichmen t series. For Long Island University\, he taught courses on Musical Theate r and Opera for the Honors Program and The Hutton House Lectures. \; M arc was a speaker for the New York Council for the Humanities for 8 years\ , lecturing on The Rodgers and Hammerstein Era: Reinventing Musical Th eater and The Ethnic Musicals: Assimilation and Integration. Previously\, Marc has worked in Development for Lincoln Center for the Pe rforming Arts and New York City Opera\, as well as AVP for Enhance Financi al Services. On the other side of the footlights Marc has performed in mus icals and theatrical productions all over Long Island. \; Favorite rol es include Benjamin Franklin in 1776\, Max in The Sound of Music\ , Tommy in Brigadoon\, Herbie in Gypsy and Andrew Ladd i n Love Letters. \;
