  discussion will provide insight into the life and work of notable women s
 uch as Ruby Bridges\, Rosa Parks\, Maya Angelou\, Kamala Harris\, Frida Ka
 hlo\, Jane Goodall and Malala Yousafzai along with how their mission relat
 es to today&rsquo\;s circumstances.</p>\n<p style="text-align: left\;">The
  program will include a panel discussion with Florida Atlantic University

 Ph.D</a>.: Assistant professor of history\, specializing in African Americ

 of English specializing in African American literature\, literature of the
  African Diaspora\, and twentieth century American literature.</p>\n<p sty

 the African American Research Library and Cultural Center</strong>&nbsp\;<
 br />The <a href="https://www.broward.org/Library/Pages/AARLCCStory.aspx">
 Broward County African American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARL
 CC)</a>&nbsp\;is located in the Sistrunk community\, one of the oldest his
 torically Black communities named for one of Fort Lauderdale&rsquo\;s firs
 t Black physicians. Opening to the public on October 26\, 2002\, AARLCC be
 came the third public library of its kind in the United States dedicated t
 o the study of Black history and culture. The 60\,000 square-foot Center s
 erves as a repository of materials related to the local\, national\, and i
 nternational voices of the African diaspora with more than 85\,000 books\,
  manuscripts\, artifacts\, framed art\, print\, photography\, audiovisual\
 , and documents held in our Adult Services Section and Special Collections
 . The Youth Services Section features a special collection of Coretta Scot
 t King Award books and the Ashley Bryan Art Collection from illustrators o
 f African Descent. AARLCC also features a 5\,000 sq. ft. museum\, a 300-se
 at state-of-the-art theatre\, and a Computer Training Center.</p>\nhttps:/
