 es it take to conceive and create a poetry collection? With her latest col
 lection\, "Hail the Invisible Watchman\," launching on April 5\, Burlingto
 n-based poet Alexandra Oliver is a seasoned veteran. She joins us virtuall
 y to share her experience\, insight\, and wisdom with aspiring poets and r
 eaders intrigued by the creative writing process.</p>\n<p>Winner of the Pa
 t Lowther Memorial Award in 2014 for her collection\, "Meeting the Torment
 ors in Safeway\," she has been nominated for a CBC Literary Award and the 
 Pushcart Prize. Her poetry regularly appears in journals worldwide\, and s
 he has performed her poems at festivals worldwide\, on CBC Radio One and N
 ational Public Radio\, and in the 1998 documentary\, Slam Nation. She hold
 s an MA in Drama\, an MFA in Creative Writing\, and is currently completin
 g her PhD in the Department of English and Cultural Studies at McMaster Un
