  it examines the places where culture\, family and growing-up intersect. I

 em>Merci Su&aacute\;rez Changes Gears</em> (Candlewick 2018). Her 2016 YA 
 novel\, <em>Burn Baby Burn</em>\, was longlisted for the National Book Awa
