For nearly two decades\, social media plat forms have been an integral part of our lives. \; And today\, whether we feel more connected or over exposed\; better informed or extremely conf used\; empowered\, seen\, and heard or overstimulated\, bullied\, and cens ored... most of us recognize these technologies and the companies behind t hem have the power to change our lives. \;
\nDespite this enormo us power\, the fact is we\, the social media users\, know little if anythi ng about how this technology is designed\, regulated\, and used. We tweet\ , we like\, and we share\, but we do not really know the consequences of o ur ever-growing dependence on social media. \; Can we change this?&nbs p\; \;
