&ldquo\;Mer Tun\, Dzer Tun&rdqu o\; translates to &ldquo\;our home\, your home&rdquo\; and is taken from a n Armenian folk song &ldquo\;Dle Yaman&rdquo\; by Armenian troubadour and genocide survivor Komitas. The installation seeks to reclaim and honor his tory\, while laying testament to the resilience of indigenous peoples robb ed of homeland everywhere. The finished product will be a quilt which feat ures artwork from the Glendale\, as well as people from Armenia and Artsak h\, reflecting on what "home" means to them. Quilting is a powerful commun al act\, bringing individuals together to think about the convergence of p ersonal and collective memory while creating a meaningful\, inclusive obje ct. Because of their collaborative nature\, quilts tell stories while also existing \;physically as historical objects passed down from generat ion to generation.
