\nIn a ddition to a career in classical music spanning over twenty-five years\,&n bsp\;Christine \;Mortine \;turned from conducting and playing inst ruments to flying \;by \;them. She is an active flight instructor\ , having obtained her CFI\, CFII\, MEI\, Cirrus Training Center Instructor \, as well as SIC in the Citation 500. \;Christine \;is a FAA appo inted Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE). \;Prior to the pandemic she wo rked with \;AOPA Air Safety Institute as an Instructor for the Flight Instructor Refresher Course (FIRC) \;and a Safety Seminars presenter.< /p>\n
She is currently a founding board member for OAS Ohio Air &a
mp\; Space Hall of Fame and Museum \;being developed in the \;CMH
original control tower\, WOSU Public Media TV/Radio\, Professional Pilots
Association\, and the \;National Parks Conservation Association Counci
l. \; \;She has served Scioto Valley Ninety-Nines\, EAA Chapter 9\
, and Columbus Symphony Orchestra boards. \;Christine \;has volunt
eered with EAA\, Young Eagles\, Angel Flights and Hospice\, and has a high
commitment to fostering scholarships currently available from Scioto Vall
ey Ninety-Nines. \; She is a member of the Society of Aviation and Fli
ght Instructors (SAFE)\, National/International Association of Flight inst
ructors (NAFI) and Women in Aviation International (WIA). She is also an a
dvocate for the Recreational Aviation Foundation (RAF) as an Ohio State Li
aison when not flying back country out west.
