You don&rsquo\;t have to be an English maj or or a bestselling author to develop the skills to create a writing pract ice that enriches your life and makes sense of your past. Join us for this informative and interactive workshop where you will learn to use the writ ing tools of creative nonfiction to reimagine your personal stories and tr ansform them into meaningful pieces of memoir. During our time together\, we will read samples of published work and take part in a writing exercise or two ourselves. The library will provide paper and pens\, but feel free to bring your own writing tools if you would prefer.
\nMarty Ross-D olen\, MD\, is a retired psychiatrist and received her MFA in Writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Her writing focus is creative nonfictio n\, and she has recently completed her own book-length memoir. Her persona l essays have appeared in North Dakota Quarterly\, Redivider< /em>\, Lilith\, and Willow Review\, among other literary journals. Her essay entitled &ldquo\;Diphtheria&rdquo\; was named a notab le essay in The Best American Essays 2017. She has served as a re ader and copyeditor for Hunger Mountain Review.
