The Dublin Irish Festival is just around t he corner. Join us for an early preview with a performance from the Columb us Celtic Dancers. Learn about the history and culture of Irish step danci ng as the Columbus Celtic Dancers perform traditional ceili \ ;(KAY-lee) dances\, sing Irish folk songs\, and share the lore and signifi cance of their wardrobe\, dances\, and music. Warning: you may feel inspir ed to dance a jig or two on your way out of this program.
\nThe Columbus Celtic Dancers&nb sp\;are a friendly group of dancers from beginners to experienced ranging from members in their 20s to 70s who dance recreationally\, perform\, and/ or compete in the adult levels! Our teachers are from Richens-Timm Academy of Irish Dance. Beginner\, ceili\, and solo classes (soft and hard shoe) occur on Monday evenings at the Ohio Theatre from 6:30-8:30pm. We perform at nursing homes or any other requested public or private events\, pubs fo r St. Patrick's day\, \;Columbus \;Arts Fest\, \;Celtic \; Fest Ohio\, and two shows at the Dublin Irish Festival. Our growing group of competitive dancers dances at \;Columbus \;feiseanna as well as Mid-America Oireachtas. Our first class of the new dance year occurs the first Monday after Labor Day.
