According to venerable Zen master Thich Nh at Hanh\, individuals practice mindfulness if they learn to see themselves as a part of the objects that they are in contact with.  Hanh uses the term “inter-be” to describe an individual’s awareness of their connection to materialistic objects that are linked to spirituali ty.  For Hanh\, to inter-be means to recognize the essence of materiali stic objects by thinking beyond the materialistic elements of the objects.   Furthermore\, people learn to inter-be with materialistic objects by realizing that they co-exist with the elements of the earth.  With H anh's teachings in mind\, this presentation will examine mind mindfulness within the Fine Arts and beyond.
