 Dr. Monita H. Mungo was a first-generation college student at Pepperdine U
 niversity where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administr
 ation. It was during her academic journey there where her love for humanit
 y and social justice developed. That love has demonstrated itself in vario
 us forms throughout her career\, including center management\, academic pr
 ogram creation for underserved students\, course development\, department 
 and community service\, social activism\, and research. Her primary goal i
 s to educate students so that they are capable and willing to improve the 
 human condition\, stimulate the local economy\, and create opportunities f
 or future generations. Dr. Mungo is an assistant professor in the Departme
 nt of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Toledo where she wor
 ks diligently to expose social inequities and demonstrate how this treatme
 nt serves as a barrier to educational achievement and career development. 
 She also serves as an affiliated faculty member in the Africana Studies pr
 ogram and the Department of Women and Gender studies.</p>\n<p>The Human Re
 lations Commission (HRC) endeavors to support a safe\, energetic\, and liv
 able city. The Commission support residents working to overcome prejudice 
 and build mutual respect.&nbsp\; HRC provides free mediation services as w
 ell as resources and programs through its four (4) committees: Community &
 amp\; Neighborhoods\, Stop the Violence\, Social Justice and Youth Empower
 ment &amp\; Engagement which are led by mayoral appointed residents repres
