\nOn the occasion of Earth Day weekend\, LA Wee kly arts editor Shana Nys Dambrot will moderate a discussion with artists featured in Mapping the Sublime: Reframing Landscape in the 21st Century. The 6 panelists have made commitments in their art practices to engage with t opics like climate change\, the exploitative effects of consumer culture a nd colonialism on the Earth's delicate ecosystem\, and more broadly philos ophical notions of the Sublime and the Anthropocene.
\nShana Nys Dam brot is an art critic\, curator\, and author based in Downtown LA. She is the Arts Editor for the L.A. Weekly\, and a contributor to Flaunt\, Art &a mp\; Cake\, and Artillery. She studied Art History at Vassar College\, wri tes book and catalog essays\, curates and juries exhibitions\, is a dedica ted Instagram photographer and is the author of the experimental novella Z en Psychosis (2020\, Griffith Moon). She speaks at galleries\, schools\, a nd cultural institutions nationally\, and is a Co-Chair of ArtTable's SoCa l Chapter\, is a member of the LA Press Club\, and sits on the Board of Ar t Share-LA the Advisory Council of Building Bridges Art Exchange.
