  about beer. Living off the rich &ldquo\;black earth&rdquo\; of the Nile a
  stone&rsquo\;s throw from the lifeless &ldquo\;red earth&rdquo\; of the d
 esert\, the Ancient Egyptians developed a food culture as unique as their 
 environment. Over thousands of years of civilization\, they learned to pro
 sper in an inhospitable climate and exploit their great river&rsquo\;s bou
 nty to the fullest.</p>\n<p>This class is a general overview of Ancient Eg
 yptian food and food culture. No prior knowledge of Ancient Egypt is requi
 red!</p>\n<p>Andrew Coletti is an educator and food fanatic based in New Y
 ork City. He holds degrees in Classics and Museum Education\, and his food
