Are you an aspiring young photographer\, o r do you just love taking pictures? Kids ages 5-12 are invited to enter th eir pics in the Petworth Library's \;Kids' Photo Contest! Winning entries will be displayed in the library. There are four cate gories for photos: Color\, Creativity\, Composition\, and Discover Summer.  \;

Discover Summer is the library's summer reading challenge this year. Participants are encouraged to explore Washington\, DC and get to know its history\, culture\, and architecture. Show us what makes DC sp ecial!

Please note that media release waivers are required for any and all portraits and self-portraits. We will email you a release form wh en we receive your submission.

Please send all entries to megan.mcnitt@dc.gov \;or karen.kotchka@dc.gov. Include the child's na me\, age\, and title of the photo in the body of the email. Please send us entries as attachments to the email in jpeg\, gif\, or pdf format. Photog raphs are due by Friday\, July 29th no later than 6pm.
