X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>This program\, with local chef Tameika Pea
rson\, will be presented online in Zoom.</p>\n<p>In this ongoing series\,
local chefs will be preparing a budget-friendly\, seasonal dish with fresh
produce available at the Summit Lake Neighborhood Farmer&rsquo\;s Market
and/or Let&rsquo\;s Grow Akron Community Farm Market. Details about these
markets will be shared at each session and can be found on Let&rsquo\;s Gr
 ow Akron&rsquo\;s website: <a href="http://www.letsgrowakron.org">www.lets
growakron.org</a>.</p>\n<p>FREE Food kits including the ingredients needed
to prepare the seasonal dish will be made available for pick up at the Od
om Blvd. Branch Library for the first 10 people to register with a separat
e email address.</p>\n<p>The theme for this series of classes is local\, s
easonal eating. The benefits of cooking and eating produce that is grown l
ocally and harvested in season will be emphasized. Seasonal produce is mor
e readily available and therefore\, more affordable at the grocery store o
r farmer&rsquo\;s market. Local produce is harvested closer to ripeness an
d travels a shorter distance from the farm to the grocery store therefore\
, retaining more nutrients and reducing impact on the environment. Purchas
ing from local growers and producers stimulates and strengthens the local
economy. Seasonal produce grown and harvested locally has the best flavor!
</p>\n<p>Each class will include a 30-minute cooking demonstration plus 15
minutes for Q&amp\;A and 15 minutes to share information about Let&rsquo\
;s Grow Akron Community Farm Market\, Summit Lake Neighborhood Farmer's Ma
rket\, and local farmer&rsquo\;s market nutrition incentive programs.</p>\
