DESCRIPTION:Are you concerned about climate change or just want to know wh
at all the fuss is about? Join GCPL and Climate Ambassadors from Climate I
nteractive to learn about MIT's En-ROADS and explore solutions with this d
 ynamic\, interactive tool. .\nhttps://gwinnettpl.libnet.info/event/6903993
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>During the workshop\, participants will be
able to visualize the impact of different climate solutions in real-time\
 , using the En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator&mdash\;a user-friendly cl
imate model. En-ROADS will be used to explore the impacts of cross-sector
solutions&mdash\;from carbon pricing\, to energy efficiency\, to innovatio
ns in new technology.</p>\n<p>Participants will have a chance to suggest a
climate change solution\, and immediately see its impact on global temper
ature rise along with co-benefits and equity considerations. As participan
ts propose solutions\, we will see how they add up to reach our goal of li
miting global temperature. The resulting experience is hopeful\, scientifi
 cally-grounded\, action-oriented\, and eye-opening.</p>\n<p>The<strong> <a
  href="https://www.climateinteractive.org/en-roads/">En-ROADS Climate Solu
tions Simulator</a> </strong>is a global model that demonstrates how chang
es in energy\, economic and public policies\, such as planting trees\, cha
nging subsidies or pricing carbon\, impact greenhouse gas emissions and wo
rldwide temperatures. This dynamic tool lets participants see for themselv
es the impact policies they think will be beneficial can&nbsp\;actually&nb
sp\;have on temperature and emissions. The interactive simulator is a fasc
inating way to explore what climate interventions are needed to effectivel
y mitigate climate change. Developed by leading scientists at Climate Inte
ractive and the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative\, En-ROADS demonstrate
 s dynamics in energy supply\, land use\, transportation\, carbon removal a
 nd more.<a href="https://citizensclimatelobby.org/chapters/GA_Gwinnett_Cou
