\nThe focus is on songs about leaving Ireland\, sometimes focusing on the reasons for lea ving (a man who is driven from his land by English persecution)\, sometime s revealing what happened upon arrival (an immigrant drafted into the Unio n army during the Civil War)\, and sometimes exploring the universal feeli ng of homesickness of a stranger in a strange land (a factory worker in Lo ndon missing his home in County Clare). The presenter discusses the histor ical context of these songs\, interspersing their stories with tunes from Ireland that made their way into New England's musical repertoire\, played on his fiddle or guitar.
\nBringing fresh energy to Celtic music\, Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki is an award-winning fiddler/singer who grew up play ing dances and folk festivals around New England. He was first recognized as part of New Hampshire&rsquo\;s culture at the age of 12\, when he was t he youngest member of the delegation representing the state at the Smithso nian Folklife Festival. He has toured nationally with bands in various gen res\, performed across Ireland\, and released multiple recordings of Celti c music that can be heard on radio stations around New England and in the British Isles. He has also written soundtracks for audiobooks and televisi on (including the New England Emmy-nominated theme music for \;NH Chro nicle) and appeared as a guest on over 75 albums. Before the pandemic he p erformed around 200 shows each year\, mostly with his own band\, the Jorda n TW Trio. In 2013 He was awarded the title of &ldquo\;Master Artist&rdquo \; by the NH State Council on the Arts and named &ldquo\;Best Fiddler 2016 &rdquo\; by \;NH Magazine. His lifelong passion for history helps brin g to life the traditional music around which he built his career. \;\n
