DESCRIPTION:An introduction into Pixel Art and making self-portraits of ou
 rselves in the process..\nhttps://spokanelibrary.libnet.info/event/7005789
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>We are turning back the clock several deca
des and looking at digital art used in early videogame making\, 8-bit/Pixe
l Art! While modern technologies allow for larger graphics\, we will explo
re the limitations of the tiny and humble pixel and the clever use of spac
e\, shape\, and color. Using the free website <a href="http://www.photopea
.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">www.photopea.com</a>\, there will be
a demo on the tools (which are similar to Adobe Photoshop so transferable
skills if participants wish to use Photoshop in the future)\, and we will
practice on graphing paper and other physical analogues before diving into
our computers. Laptops will be provided by the library. In the end\, we w
ill create ourselves as an 8-bit character.</p>\n<p>This program is for ag
es 11-18. If a young participant is not comfortable navigating a computer
or a lengthy sitting session\, caretakers are expected to stay in the room
to assist their young person. This is a time-intensive project and patien
ce is heavily emphasized.</p>\n<p>By attending library programs\, you are
agreeing to potentially appear in photos/videos taken at our locations tha
t may be used in promotional materials including social media.</p>\n<p>We
strive to make events welcoming for people of all abilities. To request ac
commodations\, call the library at 509-444-5308.</p>\nhttps://spokanelibra
