Sones de Mexico Ensemble is Chicago&rsquo\ ;s premier folk music organization specializing in Mexican &lsquo\;son\,&r squo\; a genre encompassing the roots of mariachi music and other regional styles. As a performer and recording artist\, they have developed and pop ularized many original arrangements of Mexican traditional tunes. They hav e also experimented cross-culturally with symphonic\, Irish\, folk\, blues \, C&\;W\, jazz and rock\, though never abandoning its roots in Mexican son. This event will take place outdoors\, meet us at Laurel Park Rose Ga rden\, between the Library and City Hall. In case of inclement \;weath er\, the event will take place indoors. \;

Acompá\;&ntil de\;anos al primer concierto para iniciar la serie de mú\;sica Note For Note con Sones de Mexico Ensemble\, la principal banda de mú\;si ca folcló\;rica mexicana de Chicago desde 1994\, con nominaciones a los premios Grammy y Latin Grammy. Sones de Mexico Ensemble \;se espec ializa en el son mexicano\, un gé\;nero que abarca las raí\;ce s de la mú\;sica de mariachi y otros estilos regionales. \;Como inté\;rprete y artista discográ\;fico\, han desarrollado y pop ularizado muchos arreglos originales de melodí\;as tradicionales mex icanas. \;Tambié\;n han experimentado interculturalmente con m&u acute\;sica sinfó\;nica\, irlandesa\, folk\, blues\, C&\;W\, jazz y rock\, sin abandonar nunca sus raí\;ces en el son mexicano.
