X-Page invites you to celebrate Peace Week. In the X-Page space\, you will craf t and share stories to celebrate our differences that make up the mosaic o f the Canadian experience. It is the hope that sharing our stories will pr omote peace\, understanding and acceptance.
\nThe X-Page is a writin g exercise. Their workshops use exercises based on Lynda Barry&rsquo\;s te aching and philosophy. It's the opposite of a blank page: it&rsquo\;s the space where we enter into an image using all of our senses.
\nCarrie Snyder is the author of fou r books of fiction\, including Girl Runner\, which was translated into a d ozen languages and was a finalist for the Rogers Writers Trust Prize\, and The Juliet Stories\, a finalist for the Governor General&rsquo\;s award. Her new novel\, Francie's Got a Gun\, is published by Knopf Canada (summer \, 2022). She is a consulting editor for The New Quarterly magazine\, and teaches creative writing at the University of Waterloo. She is also the co -founder of the X Page Workshop\, and has served as an editor\, mentor\, a nd project coordinator with the workshop\, which is going into its fifth s eason this winter. Carrie Snyder lives in Waterloo\, Ontario.
\nAnan di Carroll-Woolery is an auditor with the Government of Canada. \;Anan di participated in the 2020 X Page Workshop and her story was titled &ldqu o\;The Virgin.&rdquo\; She returned to the X Page in 2021 and 2022 as a me ntor and editor. She is the host of Your Region This Week and a variety of specials on Rogers tv. She an active member of Toastmasters International . Anandi is a member of the local theatre troupe &ldquo\;Flex We Talent&rd quo\;\, where she has served as writer\, producer\, and director for many of their projects. \;
